VARIABLE WEAPONS SYSTEM PERMISSIONS POST
Jan. 26th, 2012 10:43 pmSo being kind of the former Trope namer for this event it's kind of obvious that this is a Permissions Post for Mega's unique brand of tech.
Mega Man has a Copy Chip which allows him to duplicate the functions of other complex tools (specifically other robots, usually) into his Variable Tool/Weapon System. It's not as stupidly powerful as it is in canon, and has been nerfed by the fact that he can only temporarily store weapons and abilities. Once he uses them up, the weapon is purged from his system and he's need to recopy.
Copying occurs entirely by Physical Contact. If Mega can get close enough to you to grab you - generally by the arm, he can copy your power.
So what I will need from you guys is to discuss what kind of power Mega receives if he copies your character's abilities. There's a general rule of thumb I'm going to be following, or trying to follow when it comes to these, with the various people on Sacrosanct. This is mostly based on my own headcanon and what I've seen i nterms of how various machine canons work together in Sing, so debate at your leisure.
This permission post is entirely opt-in. If you do not comment, I will (assuming you play a robot that is) refrain from having Mega go NOW I'VE GOT YOUR POWER unless I get your permission first, and will still warn you if I decide to have Mega power copy in a thread.

- Cybertronians: Probably have the strongest attacks he could copy due to the sheer firepower most Cybertronians pack, but are heavily scaled down to Mega's system specifications. They are still incredibly powerful, but take up a lot more energy per shot than your standard weapon-copy. The most powerful Cybertronians may only give him one good shot to use before needing to re-copy.
- AIs: Due to a general sort of weird obsoleteness on Mega's part (since he's a Three-Laws-Compliant era robot) and due to their multiple purposes and function, AIs cannot naturally have powers copied. If they have weaponized a robot body somehow, then Mega can copy that.
- Cyborgs:Can copy powers as normal, but with a 50% chance of failure due to organic interference.
- Programs: Due to the nature of Programs and the fact they're sort of weird, I figure attempting to copy -any- basic function program results in Mega temporarily obtaining the Data Disc power, which allows him to use a Tron disc which functions similarly to the Rolling Cutter from MM1. Tron cast can feel free to point out any flaws from this.
- Powered Armor (Iron Man suit, SPARTAN armor, and the like): If the armor has any signature weapon used in combat built into the armor (like Iron Man's hand repulsors) then yes. Otherwise no.

Date: 2012-01-27 07:31 pm (UTC)Character Name: Nemesis Prime/Convoy (NEMVOY)
Type Of Power Copied: Cybertronian
Power Name: Shift Shot
Color Shift: Black and teal.
Power Function: It lets him shoot backwards in time.
No, really.
Imagine being able to fire a shot before someone even knows you've readied the weapon. This is powerful in itself - but only works to about five seconds back. Still, that's all some need. The main thing to keep in mind is that it only works for shots that have already been fired. If Mega Man didn't actually fire...that shot won't have. In a way, it 'locks' him in to making that shot ahead in the future.
Yeah, timey-wimey stuff.
Fully charged, it will let him loop those shots - to basically have someone hit by them again and again. The loop will only last for a few...well, loops, before breaking.
Estimated Charge Amount: Either one charged shot, or a handful of not-charged. No mix and match.

Date: 2012-02-11 09:05 am (UTC)Character Name: Elec Man (DLN-008)
Type Of Power Copied: Robot Master
Power Name: Thunder Beam
Color Shift: Same one as if he was copying his own Elec.
Power Function: Pretty much works the same as Archie!Elec's attack. Make that what you will.
Estimated Charge Amount: I would assume the same as in the original game.
