Setting: The year: 20XX. In a world that looks like it could possibly be a future path for our own world - albeit in a very Jetsons-esque way, there are towering skyscrapers, drones that work though construction and other mediums, and the metropolis of Monsteropolis is nestled the rather small but crucial location of Light Laboratories. Founded by Dr. Thomas Light - Nobel Peace Prize winner - using military grants, in order to help people. Light's first project is one that has significance later on, creating a security drone force known as the 'Sniper Joe' line. After the ceasation of this line due to Light Labs' self sustainability - not to mention conflicting the good Doctor's peaceful ideology - but he knew that to make the world a better place, he couldn't do everything on his own.

Enter his partner and fellow colleage, Dr. Albert Wily. Dispite being disgraced by the robotics community for experimental military robotics research, Light still saw good in him (he'd kind of have to, with a name like Wily) and offer him a 50/50 partnership at Light Labs, explaining his desire to change the world of Robotics on a grand scale. Wily agreed, and the co-partnership of Light Labs was formed.

The project that had Light's attention the most was the one he wanted from the beginning: Robots capable of independant, rational thought, who could do jobs too dangerous or downright impossible for humans. Wily and Light started this project, beginning with a Sniper Joe frame and reworking it to better suit an independant thinking robot. This was DLN-000, Blues. Also known as Proto Man. Due to some shenanigans that -at the time- aren't really important, he ran away. A completely independant robot. However, he was the model for the next robots to come.

DLN-001 and DLN-002, Rock and Roll. Two robots designed to work in tandem as brother and sister, lab assistant and housekeeper. Two robots fully capable of thinking for themselves... within the confines of their own programming. Light's dream was still a ways away, but he had made his first steps, and now that he had perfected the mind part of his robots, he moved toward the bodies, creating six more robots alongside Dr. Wily - the extension of the DLN series, the six complete Robot Masters. Bomb Man, Guts Man, Cut Man, Elec Man, Ice Man, and Fire Man, with two more prototypes - Time Man and Oil Man - being overseen by Dr. Wily.

However, relations between Light and Wily had started to sour. Wily had always been jealous of Light for being better than him - and more revered by his peers - in the field of robotics. He was a GENIUS. Why should that naive old FOOL be given the credit! Light didn't forsee this, and Wily kept a poker face. One day in the year 20XX, Light unveiled his joint collaboration - the six completed Robot Masters. Once again jealous of Light - and feeling his disregard for military robots was childish, Wily took that night to put his plan into motion. He went into Light Labs, reprogrammed the Robot Masters to serve him, and the next morning - made his bid for World Domination.

Dr. Light was distraught, the military outgunned and outmatched, and Wily's reprogramming of his brothers to cause havoc made Rock resolute in the action he took next. He was supposed to help people. And thus, he told Dr. Light to upgrade him - to give him the power needed to break his brothers free of Dr. Wily's control. Dr. Light, after being skeptical and worried, let Rock have his way, retooling his body to a battle body, and creating his trademark weapon - the Mega Buster. Calling himself Mega Man, he vowed to stop Dr. Wily's machinations from coming to fruition.

Personality: Rock is very much the epitome of the age you'd mistake him for. He acts without thinking, but is very kind and naive. He will trust most anyone unless they give him reason to doubt.

With a strong moral compass (built primarily around the classic Three Laws Of Robotics), he has a firey spirit, and shows his passion through helping others. He doesn't wish to hurt anyone, should he have to - but at the same time, he will not let others come to harm through inaction, knowing that if he has the firepower to stop any mechanized menace, will volunteer to go to work. His passion and lack of foresight are key factors - but he is quick to apologize for both, emphassizing a happy-go-lucky nature underneath a pre-pubescent battle frame.

He's shown to not have good control over his emotions, going from increasing overconfidence as he amasses weapons to complete devastation when Roll reacts to him. He has come across as brash and hotheaded when needed be, but he's shown to try and keep himself in check since then. Nevertheless, he wears his heart on his sleeve - you're often able to tell Rock's emotions by simply looking at him. Don't take him for a fool, however - Rock himself is clever in his ability to perservere in the name of Justice, having come up with several unique situations to challenges that otherwise would have taken much more firepower.

So, to summarize, Rock is a passionate, somewhat naive, bleeding heart, courageous technical pacifist who has developed into a quick-witted and compassionate freedom fighting robot of justice.

Abilities, Weaknesses, and Power Limitation Suggestions:

  • Ceratanium Alloy Armor: Rock is crafted with some of the most advanced armor Light could manufacture, meaning that he's no slouch when it comes to armor. This allows him to function with both flexibility and toughness in battle. (+Durability)
  • High-Power Solar Reactor: Originally designed to keep Rock functioning on a normal level, it has been upgraded to compensate for the energy draw of the new combat systems, converting sunlight into energy. This means that he has a plethora of power to draw from in combat situations. (+Stamina)
  • Advanced Robotic Frame: Rock is a Robot, which means thatr naturally, his abilities can exceed that of a standard human. It also means he isn't quite bound by standard human limitations, such as breathing and the like. (+Strength)
  • Mega Buster MK I:A high-power, rapid-fire device from which Rock's alias comes from. Shoots small baseball-sized balls of plasma that could easily damage robotic structures. Can be charged with focus to shoot a larger, higher-impact shot. Drains energy from his Solar Reactor, meaning the heavy use will leave Rock exhausted.
  • Variable Tool System: A system unique to Rock, its original use was to assess and be able to deuce how tools and other machines work with unheard of rapidness through sight and touch. However, with the Copy Chip Dr. Light installed on his upgrade, it created a new level to the Variable Tool System: Mega Man is able to replicate the functions and - if their function is combat oriented - the primary weapon of more advanced machines, such as the Robot Masters. He can then replicate the effect using his own systems or incorporate the technology used inside his systems. Each ability copied is alloted a certain amount of power, which will deplete with usage. Rock has used this to great effect in the past, allowing him to take on Robot Masters using other Robot Master's powers - a critical staple in his strategy.
    • Limitations: Since this is obviously one of the more critical weapons in Mega's armor -and a bit of a high-powered one, at that, the following limitation suggestions are as follows:
    • Weapon Power is based on scaling it to Rock's frame. Copying a Transformer Weapon wouldn't give Rock the power level of a Transformer, as it'd have to be scaled down to Rock's level and still consume a large amount of energy per shot.
    • When he runs out of energy, the copied power is purged from his system, meaning that he would have to recopy it at some later date.
    • He can not use this function on AIs, due to incompatible technology.
    • Any other player-controlled machines would require to get permission from the mun to copy their power - one and only one, with the character's mun in question giving what the weapon would be.
  • Childishness: Rock is, for all intents and purposes, a pre-teen in demeanor. This can be both a good thing (unfailing optimism) and a bad thing (extremely naive), and can be exploited accordingly.
  • Three Laws Rule: Despite being convincing enough, Rock himserlf does not have true 'free will', as he is constrained by his programming, which as a safety feature, has Isaac Asimov's traditional Three Laws of Robotics as a fully-functional measure. As a refresher course, the Three Laws are:
The First Law: A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
The Second Law: A robot must obey the orders given to it by human beings, except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
The Third Law: A robot must protect its own existence, as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Laws.
This can be exploited and taken advantage of with tose who understand exactly how to manipulate the Three Laws. And, by someone with enough skill, he can be reprogrammed so that the three laws don't exactly apply... but this could have much worse consequences than intended.
  • Spikes: I couldn't get past this without making a mention. Spikes are the notorious 'critical weakness' to Rock's body frame. Not just any spikes, mind you (though most sharp spikes will elicit a rather scared reaction from Rock himself), electrified spike traps, and spikes sharpened down to the molecular level, will easily penetrate the certanium armor, often resulting in a critical core malfunction.

Log Sample:

He was falling. This was the first thing that he understood.

The next thing he understood was that falling hurt. With a crash of metal and some groaning, he found himself among piles of... scrap metal and rubble?

A quirk of an eyebrow and a half-open mouth made clear in the reflection of some metal that his own face was one of someone who had found their perceptions turned upside-down.

Or maybe that was just because he was looking at his reflection in a hubcap.

Regardless, the blue-clad robot stood up, brushing himself off of dirt that accured on him as he lay in the pile of junk. He could hear a voice from somewhere.

"...please watch your step."

That's strange. He looked around. He was about to go find out where Wily had escaped to, but suddenly he found himself in a foreign, not-quite-hostile... area? He walked towards the source of the voice, entering an area. He heard something about 'decontamination', but what he saw was a small device to the side. Was that supposed to go on the wrist? He quickly started to deduce its functions, picking one up.

A communicator? Maybe I can get in touch with Dr. Light this way.

He put it on his wrist, his own sub-systems immediately starting to interface with the device and link it up to the existing communicator in his helmet.

Well, nothing ventured...

[The feed turns on - oh hey, is that a robot or a 10-year-old in blue spandex?]

This thing is a communicator, right? Hello? Can anyone hear me?

I need to find a way to get back to my home, as soon as possible. A dangerous criminal just escaped!

Doctor Light, can you hear me? Are you there, too?

For those people I don't know, this is Doctor Light Number Zero-Zero-One, but you can call me Rock.

Please respond as soon as possible, my request is pretty urgent!

[He looks... fairly worried, but shuts off the video feed quickly afterward.]
